Re: Learning Goals

Dear Qabil,

You do not learn goals. You learn how to set goals. You have to have some goals in your life so that you can work towards achieving the same. I do not know which country you are from or your age group. Let me give you a
small example. Let us say you are in College and very interested in computers and programming. Than your goal could be to become one of the best programmers and if possible invent a new programming language. Trust the matter is clarified.

best wishes,

Madhavan

Hi, I am currently studying on an MBA programme, and have been asked to debate the statement "Money the only motivator". So far apart from this document on your web site (http://madgopes.com/motivation.html),I have not found much support for this theory. Can you help, maybe by pointing me in the direction of additional material.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

OUR REPLY SENT:

HI  kw

GLAD TO NOTE YOU SAW MY PAGE AND FOUND IT USEFUL. WHATEVER I HAVE MENTIONED IN MY PAGE IS OUT OF EXPERIENCE IN DEALING WITH HUMAN BEINGS ALL OVER THE WORLD AND I AM YET TO COME ACROSS ANY ARTICLE WHICH ADMITS THAT MONEY IS THE ONLY MOTIVATOR. MAYBE AN AVERAGE MAN IS CONCEITED, HYPOCRITE AND MONEY BEING ASSOCIATED WITH CORRUPTION AND POWER DOES NOT WANT TO ADMIT IT.

I AM AFRAID I AM NOT ABLE TO POINT OUT TO ANY LITERATURE BUT TAKE IT FROM ME IT IS THE ONLY MOTIVATOR. YOU CAN ALWAYS REFER TO ME FOR ANY CLARIFICATIONS OR ASSISTANCE AS I LIKE HELPING PEOPLE AS NOBODY HAS HELPED ME WHEN I NEEDED HELP AND I KNOW HOW IT FEELS.

BEST WISHES

Dear Sir,

I saw your advice to sweetness99 at learn2.com.  I have spent some time looking at your website, and I like your philosophy.  There are several theories that say, money is attracted to individuals to whom money is not their ultimate objective.  This is a life lesson that I started out learning the hardest way possible.  I believe that for an endeavor to be truly worth while it needs the following attributes:

It needs to be honest. Most importantly to one self. Honesty to others falls from being honest to your self.
It needs to be necessary. Whether that means at the survival level or the pinnacle of wealth and power, you or someone else must need it for it to be important. It needs to be complete. A scientist will say sufficient, but sufficient is a misunderstood term. Sufficient in modern terms means just enough to do the job.  I am using the word complete because it has a deeper sense of the effort it takes to truly make a master work.

I have at times in my life met all of these conditions.  Often I have sacrificed one for the others, this has never left me feeling good about myself or the people I was working for.  Usually I will blame time constraints or outside factors to try to feel better about failure, but it is failure none the less.

I have recently finished setting up a server and I am in the process of preparing my own website.  These things take an incredible amount of time to get off the ground, but it has been worth it. I have learned allot in your pages already and see that I can learn much more there.  I really want to thank you for your presence on the web.

Please pardon me now while I make a fool of myself and try to tell you how to run your own website. I like your website.  After I realized that the home page was a million miles long and I found the site map at the bottom of the page it all fell  into place.

I think you need to reorganize your home page with a table of links at the top to take you step by step through the key bullet points. Having written international software for various applications I do know that in a multi-national site of this type, it must be very difficult to keep up with spelling and grammar.  I found quite a few spelling errors that could easily be caught with a spell checker. I hate all the underlining on the page, it is hard to tell if you meant to have a link there and forgot or what.  If you are going to quote, then use quotes or italics.

This is the end of my critical outburst.

Thank you for your time, I know it is valuable.

Dear Mr.S,

Many thanks for your feedback and I like your constructive criticism and know, I need to go a long way in site design but considering the fact, I am no Nerd, readers like you should pardon me.

Regarding spell check I do carry it out and will again do so. Grammar is one of my weak areas.

I agree with you completely on one thing. I am honest to myself and my conscience and express my views fearlessly and sincerely.

Dear Madhavan,

Thank you for the clarification. Unfortunately, this probably won't be of much help to you.  There really wasn't anything specific to that article that prompted me to invite you to join ------------. Rather the complete site indicated to me that you have much expertise to share in a variety of fields. What drew me, and others, to select the Goal Setting article while I was looking at your list of articles, is probably because it's something we ALL strive to do throughout our whole lives.  Some of your other articles are directed more to a specific group of people.  Your article on 'Hiring People' may well be an excellent one, but since I'm not in a position to hire others, I would be unlikely to read it. Hope this helps a little any way!

Sincerely,

G A

Dear Mr. Gopalachary,
I used the article titled Motivation and Morale. I wanted to give my
audience information concerning Morale. The article lists both the symptoms
and the causes of morale, which I think is very beneficial for employers.
You also discussed ways to improve employee morale. The information is
concise and direct. I try to be as honest and direct as possible when I
speak with people. Thanks for all of your help.

Sincerely,

Lisa Colona

Dear Julie,

Thank u for your query. I am not an accountant by profession. However , I do not think that depreciation is a source of fund. In my opinion it should be taken as reserve fund to be set aside for future expenses. However most organizations use it as a source and get into a mess. Ideally some regulation should be done to
transfer it into some sort of reserve fund. Trust I have clarified. Pl ack.
